The Union has developed a high profile advertising campaign for Lothian Health Board using favourable images of older people with the objective of encouraging a more positive attitude from the younger generation. The campaign features a 60 second cinema commercial based on the highly commended Sony Playstation ‘Double Life’ TV ad. This commercial features old people talking about the full, varied and interesting lives that they have led. The ad ends with the caption ‘Do not under estimate the power of experience.’ The commercial will be shown throughout the summer at the major Edinburgh multiplexes before Mission Impossible 2 and Guy Ritchies’ Snatch.

The poster campaign focuses on internationally respected and influential figures of history who have changed the course of the world. They highlight that these people achieved great things in old age and that we should respect the older generation’s experience. The poster campaign will run in the Edinburgh area throughout July to September.
