The new product is distilled and bottled by hand in the small village of Uig on the Isle of Skye. The small batch gin is distilled in a custom-built copper still, nicknamed ‘Flora’ by the company.

The Isle of Skye Brewing Company has 25 years of experience brewing award-winning ales, such as Skye red and Skye Gold.

The gin took three years planning and research to develop. The botanicals used for the first gin, The Storr, include juniper, rosehip, coriander, sweet peel, black peppercorn, orris root, liquorice root, heather, plus locally sourced wild angelica and meadowsweet. This results in a refreshing and aromatic spirit.

The gin is initially available online at https://skyeale.com/skye-gin-the-storr/ as well as in limited on-trade outlets.

The brand and packaging was developed by The Union.
