(ScottishPower have four nominations, whilst Police Scotland are up for three awards.)

The awards will be announced at a Gala dinner on 12th June this year at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Glasgow.

Louise Killough, Deputy MD of The Union, commented: “These nominations are a reflection of the hard work, talent and ambition that runs through every part of our team. What’s even more satisfying is the breadth of recognition; no fewer than eight different clients have been nominated. Competition for these awards is fierce; the number of agencies entering is evidence of this. But regardless of how things play out on the night, this year’s nominations again show the scale and quality of our creative and strategic output.”

Emma Campbell, Deputy MD of Union Direct, added: “A huge well done to everyone who worked tirelessly to pull together the award entries - we know how much time, thinking and craft goes into the submissions. Also, a big ‘thank you’ to our clients for helping and supporting us. It really is a team effort.”

The Union has been entering the Star Awards since 2004, when the awards scheme was created. The agency uses the scheme as a benchmark of quality; entrants need to demonstrate marketing effectiveness in their submissions, as judged by an independent panel of industry judges.
