COMMUNITY HEALTH APP
NHS GG&C Community Health had a challenge in helping out of hours GPs and health workers to access the available community support and resources. This meant that the default position was often to refer cases to A&E, which was putting a strain on emergency services. NHS GG&C therefore briefed The Union to develop an ‘out of hours’ Community Health App (CHAPP); which provided a comprehensive directory of resources, contact details, addresses and maps to help health practitioners whilst on a community visit. The App is a good example of how practical technology can help both improve service and deliver efficiency in the public sector. It was shortlisted for a DADI award in 2014.
